8 Fun Fall Activities to Do With Your Pet

The autumn season is ideal for going on walks with your pet because the weather is pleasant and the leaves are deliciously crisp. Here are a few pet-friendly fall activities to add to your to-do list.

1. Visit an apple farm

A visit to an apple orchard is the epitome of "autumn"! Numerous orchards allow leashed pets to stroll alongside you while you explore the apple trees. A world of scents awaits your pet, and apples are a delicious, healthful snack for people, dogs, and cats.

2. Halloween costume

Let's face it, we look forward to seeing pets dressed up for Halloween all year. Even though not all pets enjoy dressing up, those that do soon emerge as the favorites at any pet costume party or trick-or-treating outing. If you offer your pet with loads of dog treats or cat goodies, they might be more willing to wear those devil horns for just long enough for a picture if they're a little less thrilled about dressing up.

3. Go for a Nature Walk

Entering the forest is the best way to take in the changing fall colors. While their human companions gaze up to the canopy and take in the rainbow hues, adventurous dogs and cats will delight in rustling through the fallen leaves and sniffing out secret scents.

4. Prepare a Fall Meal

We all know that our dog loves it when they get to snag a piece of home-cooked food, so cold days seem like the ideal opportunity to get in the kitchen and cook up something warm and delicious.

Create a special treat particularly for them like a fall-themed pumpkin spice dog smoothie, or invite the whole family over for some roasted vegetables! A tray of sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower that has been slowly roasted will appeal to people as well as dogs and cats (just make sure to put the seasonings on the human portions after serving your pets). Get cooking after checking whether vegetables are safe for pets!

5. Enjoy Leaf Pile Play

While leaf raking can be laborious, a healthy leaf pile makes the ideal play place for your pet. The leaves will serve as a natural snuffle carpet for them to search over if you hide toys and goodies inside of them. And of course, boisterous dogs adore rolling about in leaf piles until there are none left! Right, you were expecting for the additional exercise of another round of raking.

6.Visit a corn maze

Do you know the key to navigating a cornfield labyrinth? No, we're not talking about a map; instead, we're talking about a skilled sniffer who can lead the way. They'll get to take use of all the advantages of using their nose for exploration, giving you the added benefit of having another one of the five senses working to locate the appropriate way.

7. Persevere on a ghost tour

Looking for a less conventional approach to spend time outside with your pet? A growing number of people now participate in ghost tours during the Halloween season, and many outdoor walking excursions allow well-behaved pets. While you check to see if your pet can detect any ghosts—possibly literally—you might get the pants scared off you with spine-chilling tales.

8. Visit a pumpkin farm

With a pet +1, a trip to the pumpkin patch to find future jack o' lanterns or decorative gourds for the fall is even more enjoyable! If you choose to carve some pumpkins when you get home, they can enjoy some time playing around the farm and munching on tasty gourds. Both raw and cooked pumpkin are fine for dogs to eat, but you should prepare them until they are soft for the local cats.

This autumn, you can decide how daring you want to be! Take your pet on a weekend getaway and tick off all the exciting fall things you may do if you're looking to explore. Any of these activities pairs well with a movie marathon watched while cuddled up on the couch with your pet if you want to stay closer to home. You can choose to start with seasonal rom-coms or scary movies.
